Clinical Services segment conducts Phase I clinical trials; and provides Phase II-IV clinical trials management services, which include testing, medical data sciences services, and regulatory support. Charles River Laboratories sells its products and services primarily through its direct sales force supplemented by a network of international distributors in the United States, Europe, and Japan. The companys customer base includes pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and animal health and medical device companies, as well as various government agencies, hospitals, and academic institutions.
