| Navistar International Corporation, through its subsidiary, International Truck and Engine Corporation, produces commercial truck, school bus, and mid-range diesel engines. It operates in three segments: Truck, Engine, and Financial Services. The Truck segment manufactures and distributes a line of diesel-powered class 6, 7, and 8 trucks, and school buses in the common carrier, private carrier, government/service, leasing, construction, energy/petroleum, and student transportation markets in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and other countries. It also provides customers with proprietary products needed to support the International truck and the IC bus lines, as well as provides other standard truck and trailer aftermarket parts. The Engine segment designs and manufactures medium range diesel engines for sale to original equipment manufacturers in the United States and Brazil. It also sells engines for industrial and agricultural applications. In addition, the Engine segment provides customers with proprietary products needed to support the International engine lines, as well as other standard engine and aftermarket parts. The Financial services segment provides retail, wholesale, and lease finance for products sold by the truck segment and its dealers within the United States and Mexico, as well as finances the companys wholesale accounts and selected retail accounts receivable. In addition, the company, through a joint venture with Ford Motor Company, builds medium commercial trucks, and sells truck and diesel engine service parts.
