| Vista Gold Corp. engages in the evaluation, acquisition, exploration, and development of gold projects. As of December 31, 2003, the corporation owned or controlled 11 gold properties in North and South America. These projects include the Maverick Springs, Mountain View, Hasbrouck, Three Hills, and Wildcat projects, as well as the Hycroft mine, all in Nevada; the Long Valley project in California; the Yellow Pine project in Idaho; the Paredones Amarillos and Guadalupe de los Reyes projects in Mexico; and the Amayapampa project in Bolivia. It also owns exploration claims in Canada and approximately 250f the shares of Zamora Gold Corp., a company exploring for gold in Ecuador. The company was originally incorporated in 1983 under the name Granges Exploration, Ltd. It changed its name to Granges, Inc. in 1989. Granges, Inc. and Da Capo Resources, Ltd. amalgamated under the name Vista Gold Corp. in 1996. Vista Gold is based in Littleton, Colorado. |
