Anchor BanCorp Wisconsin, Inc. operates as the holding company for AnchorBank, fsb, which provides financial services in Wisconsin, as well as in the contiguous counties of Iowa and Illinois. The bank offers checking accounts, savings accounts, money market accounts, mortgages, home equity and other consumer loans, student loans, credit cards, and annuities to individual customers. It also provides banking services to businesses, including checking accounts, lines of credit, secured loans, and commercial real estate loans. The bank, through its subsidiary, Anchor Investment Services, Inc., offers investments, credit life insurance, and disability insurance. As of May 3, 2004, the bank operated 56 offices and two loan origination offices. Anchor BanCorp also has a nonbanking subsidiary, Investment Directions, Inc., which invests in real estate held for development and sale. In addition, the company invests in U.S. government and federal agency obligations, mutual funds, and corporate stocks. Anchor BanCorp was incorporated in Wisconsin in 1992 and its principal executive offices are located in Madison, Wisconsin.
