Alliance Fiber Optic Products, Inc. (AFOP) engages in the design, manufacture, and marketing of fiber optic components for communications equipment manufacturers in the United States and Asia Pacific. The company offers a range of products, including interconnect devices that are used to connect optical fibers and components; couplers and splitters, which are used to divide and combine optical power; and dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) devices that separate and combine multiple specific wavelengths. It also provides wavelength management solutions, which comprise WDM and DWDM components and modules that utilize thin film filter technologies to separate optical signals. In addition, AFOP offers optical devices, which consists of optical depolarizer that reduces the degree of polarization of a light source; automatic variable optical attenuator, which controls the amount of power in an optical fiber; and switchable optical drop/add module that inserts or extracts specific wavelengths in a DWDM system. The companys products are deployed by customers in long-haul networks, metropolitan networks, last mile access networks, and enterprise networks. AFOP was founded in 1995 and is headquartered in Sunnyvale, California.
