The companys products operate in licensed and license-free bands ranging from 2.4 GHz to 28 GHz frequency bands. It sells its products through a network of original equipment manufacturers, distributors, systems integrators, and resellers. The company has strategic relationships with Siemens AG, Alcatel, Nera, and Datang Telephone Corp. Alvarion was incorporated in 1992 under the laws of Israel. The company was formerly known as BreezeCOM, Ltd. and its name was changed to Alvarion, Ltd. in 2001, pursuant to its acquisition of Floware Wireless Systems, Ltd. The company is headquartered in Tel Aviv, Israel.
