BEA Systems, Inc. provides application infrastructure software worldwide. The company’s WebLogic Enterprise Platform automates customers’ processes, eases their new service launches, and automates their supplier and distributor relationships. This platform consists of BEA WebLogic Server, which includes security, management, development, and deployment features, as well as support for Web services protocols; BEA WebLogic Integration, a solution for application integration, business process management, business-to-business integration, and Web services; BEA WebLogic Portal, which builds and deploys personalized enterprise portals; BEA Liquid Data for WebLogic, a solution for providing information integration and data aggregation from various sources in distributed computer systems; BEA WebLogic Workshop, a services-oriented development environment primarily for Web applications, Web services, data and application integration, business processes, and portals; BEA Web logic JRockit, a server centric Java Virtual Machine; BEA WebLogic Enterprise Security, an application security infrastructure solution; and BEA Tuxedo, a transaction processing platform for distributed enterprise applications. The company sells its products through distributors, value added resellers, and partnerships with independent software vendors, application service providers, hardware original equipment manufacturers, and systems integrators, as well as directly through a network of sales offices and Web site at www.bea.com. It serves telecommunications, commercial and investment banking, securities trading, government, manufacturing, retail, airlines, pharmaceuticals, package delivery, and insurance industries. The company was founded by Alfred S. Chuang in 1995 and is headquartered in San Jose, California.
