Its product lines include font technology, browsing technology, and publishing technology. Font technology includes font rendering and display software; and the company develops digital type design, technical font formats, and font portability and compaction software. The companys font technology products include Font Fusion, btX2, TrueDo, and TrueDoc Imaging System; and the font products include Bitstream Typeface Library, BTN Library, Asian Stroke-based Fonts, and Tiresias Screenfont. These products are sold to original equipment manufacturers and independent software vendors worldwide. The browsing product line includes ThunderHawk, a wireless Web browsing technology for small wireless devices, including Pocket PCs and cell, and smart phones. ThuderHawk has three editions: ThunderHawk Enterprise Server, ThunderHawk SmartPhone, and ThunderHawk PocketPC. The company also offers PageFlex, a Web publishing technology. Pageflex products and technologies consist of Mpower, EDIT, Persona, and NuDoc. It licenses its products directly to Web-to-print providers, print service providers, corporations, and end users; and indirectly through resellers and strategic partners. The company also operates MyFonts.com, a Web site that provides a collection of fonts. It also provides other services, such as custom design and development, and training. The company has strategic partnerships with Electronics for Imaging, Xerox, and Creo. Bitstream was founded in 1981 and is headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
