The bank provides various services that include trade finance, transactional services, structured trade finance, and capital market services. It offers short-term trade financing, commercial letters of credit, stand by letters of credit, bankers acceptances, and discounted notes. The transactional services provided by the bank include U.S. clearing electronic services, bank to bank reimbursements and collections, and inter bank deposits. It also provides ECAs multisourcing agreements, syndicated facilities, factoring and vendor financing, country risk guarantees, and forfeiting services. The bank provides various capital market services, including asset backed financing, short and medium term issuances, and foreign exchange services. Its lending activities are funded by inter bank deposits from central banks and financial institutions by short term and medium term borrowings, and by floating and fixed rate placements made with financial institutions, and investors in Japan, Europe, and North America. Banco Latinoamericano de Exportaciones was incorporated in 1977 and is headquartered in Panama City, Panama.
