Chemtura Corporation engages in the manufacture and marketing of specialty chemicals, crop protection and pool, and spa and home care products. It also produces polymer products and equipment for industrial manufacturing customers for use as additives, ingredients, or intermediates. The companys polymer products include polymer additives; plastic additives; and rubber additives, which include accelerators, antioxidants, antiozonants, chemical foaming agents, and specialty waxes. It also offers crop protection products, including fungicides, miticides and other insecticides, growth regulants, and herbicides. In addition, the company offers flame retardants, polymer stabilizers and optical monomers, brominated performance products, fire suppression products, fluorine specialty products, and industrial water additives, as well as manufactures integrated polymer processing equipment, including rubber and plastic single-screw extrusion equipment, and industrial blow-molding machines. Further, the company provides nonabrasive bathroom cleaners, glass and surface cleaners, toilet bowl cleaners, drain openers, water treatment biocides, and rust and calcium removers, as well as the greased lightning family of multipurpose cleaners. Its products are used in transportation, construction, packaging, agriculture, lubricants, plastics for durable and nondurable goods, and personal care products markets. The company was formerly known as Crompton Corporation and changed its name to Chemtura Corporation in July 2005. Chemtura is headquartered in Middlebury, Connecticut.
