CollaGenex markets proprietary dental products of Atrix Laboratories, Inc. These products include Atridox, Atrisorb FreeFlow, and Atrisorb-D. Atridox is a locally-applied and antimicrobial therapy for the treatment of chronic adult periodontitis. Atrisorb FreeFlow is used in the surgical treatment of periodontal defects to help regenerate tissue. Atrisorb-D reduces the incidence of infections during guided tissue regeneration procedures. The company also markets Pandel, a prescription midpotency topical corticosteroid product licensed from Altana, Inc. In addition, it develops a pipeline of products, which are in clinical and preclinical development. These products are based on its proprietary platform technologies, IMPACs and Restoraderm. CPI distributes Periostat and Pandel through drug wholesalers in the United States. The company distributes the Atrix dental products through a specialty distributor who sells these products directly to dental practitioners in the United States and Puerto Rico. CollaGenex was founded in 1992 as CollaGenex, Inc. and changed its name to CollaGenex Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in 1996. The company is based in Newtown, Pennsylvania.
