Double Eagle Petroleum Company engages in the exploration, development, production, and sale of crude oil and natural gas in the United States. As of December 31, 2003, the company owned interests in a total of 421 producing wells, with oil constituting approximately 7% and natural gas constituting approximately 93% of its production. It focuses its exploration and development activities on the Green River Basin in southwestern Wyoming, the Powder River Basin in northeastern Wyoming, the Washakie Basin in south central Wyoming, the Wind River Basin in central Wyoming, and the Christmas Meadows area in northeastern Utah. Double Eagle Petroleum was formed in 1972 and is based in Casper, Wyoming.
