Dollar Tree Stores, Inc. engages in the ownership and operation of discount variety stores in the United States. The company offers merchandise, which includes candy, food, houseware, health and beauty care, seasonal goods, party goods, toys, stationery, gifts, and other consumer items. As of April 30, 2005, it operated 2,791 single-price point stores under the names of Dollar Tree, Dollar Bills, Dollar Express, Only One Dollar, and Only $One. Dollar Tree was co-founded by Doug Perry, Macon Brock, and Ray Compton in 1986. The company is headquartered in Chesapeake, Virginia.
