Euronet Worldwide, Inc. processes secure electronic financial transactions. It offers outsourcing and consulting services, integrated electronic financial transaction (EFT) software, network gateways, and electronic top-up services to financial institutions, mobile operators, and retailers. The company operates in three segments: EFT Processing, Prepaid Processing, and Software Solutions. The EFT Processing segment provides outsourced management services and network services to banks and mobile phone companies primarily in the Europe, the Middle East, Egypt, and India. This segment also offers electronic recharge services for prepaid mobile airtime. As of December 31, 2004, it processed transactions for a network of 5,742 ATMs and approximately 9,700 point of sale terminals. The Prepaid Processing segment provides prepaid processing, or top-up services, for prepaid mobile airtime and other prepaid products. This segment operates a network of approximately 175,000 point of sale terminals providing electronic processing of prepaid mobile phone airtime top-up services in the United States, Europe, and Asia Pacific. The Software Solutions segment offers a suite of integrated electronic financial transaction software solutions for electronic payment and transaction delivery systems. Euronet Worldwide was established in 1997 and is headquartered in Leawood, Kansas.
