EPCOS AG engages in the production and supply of electronic components for the telecommunications, automotive, consumer, and industrial electronics markets worldwide. The company operates through four segments: Capacitors, Surface Acoustic Wave Components, Ceramic Components, and Ferrites and Inductors. The Capacitors segment offers film, power, tantalum, aluminum electrolytic, and ultra capacitors. These products are used in mobile phones to automotive and industrial electronics to high speed trains. The Surface Acoustic Wave Components segment designs and manufactures surface acoustic wave components devices for use as filters in mobile and cordless telephones, pagers, and short-range radios. The Ceramic Components segment designs and produces ceramic electronic devices. This segmentÂ’s products include thermistors, multilayer ceramic capacitors, varistors, piezo stacks, and surge voltage arresters. The Ferrites and Inductors segment offers a range of standardized and custom-made soft ferrite cores for inductors, transformers, and other finished inductors made by winding ferrite cores with wire, as well as EMC components. It sells its products to telecommunications and automotive, consumer, and industrial electronics industries. EPCOS is headquartered in Munich, Germany.
