Its simulation solutions are categorized into five lines: military Simulation, Commercial Simulation, strategic visualization, Digital Theater, and Service & Support. The company offers a range of visual simulation solutions for various types of military vehicle training. It provides image generators, display systems, and visual databases for ground-based warfare, helicopter, fixed-wing aircraft, and ship bridge simulators. The Commercial Simulation line provides visual systems to major airline and aircraft manufacturers worldwide. It offers a range of FAA approved solutions for Level D, Level C, Level A/B, and desktop training, as well as upgrades for existing systems. The Strategic Visualization line provides visualization databases and services to the worlds military operations, intelligence, and training communities for mission planning, preview, rehearsal, damage assessment, or other highly time-sensitive purposes. The Digital Theater line develops systems that transform its simulation technology into 360-degree domed and large format theater experiences. In addition, the company develops, markets, and licenses a variety of show content. The Service & Support line provides a range of pre and post-sales support for E&S products; on-site installation, maintenance, and repair; and maintenance training for customers. The company was formed in 1968 by Dr. David Evans and Dr. Ivan Sutherland and is based in Salt Lake City, Utah.
