General Dynamics Corporation engages in the design, development, manufacture, and support of technology products and services for information systems and technologies, land and expeditionary combat systems, shipbuilding and marine systems, and business aviation. The company operates in four segments: Information Systems and Technology, Combat Systems, Marine Systems, and Aerospace. The Information Systems and Technology segment provides tactical and strategic mission systems, which include command, control, communication, and computing systems and products, and information assurance; intelligence mission systems that include information warfare systems, battle space information management systems, signal and information collection and processing systems, and special purpose computing; and network infrastructure and information technology (IT) services that include enterprise-wide software and hardware integration, networking, and IT support services. This segment supplies products, infrastructure, and integration services to gather, process, and disseminate information. The Combat Systems segment develops, manufactures, and supports tracked and wheeled armored combat vehicles, tracked main battle tanks and infantry fighting vehicles, guns and ammunition-handling systems, ammunition and ordnance, reactive armor, mobile bridge systems, radomes and other composite parts for aerospace systems, and chemical and biohazard detection products. The Marine Systems segment provides the U.S. Navy with attack submarine, surface warfare ships, auxiliary and combat-logistics ships, engineering design support, and overhaul and repair services. The Aerospace segment designs, develops, manufactures, and supports a fleet of business-jet aircraft, as well as offers its aircraft for both executive transport and special-mission platforms to governments and government agencies. In addition, its Resources group provides construction aggregates, and operates coal mines. The companys primary customers include the U.S. military, other government organizations, the armed forces of allied nations, and various corporate and industrial buyers. General Dynamics is headquartered in Falls Church, Virginia.
