Hewlett-Packard Company provides products, technologies, solutions, and services to consumers, businesses, and governments worldwide. It operates in seven segments: Personal Systems Group (PSG), Imaging and Printing Group (IPG), Enterprise Storage and Servers (ESS), HP Services (HPS), HP Financial Services (HPFS), Software, and Corporate Investments. PSG segment sells commercial personal computers (PCs), consumer PCs, workstations, handheld computing devices, digital entertainment systems, calculators and other related accessories, and software and services for commercial and consumer markets. IPG segment provides imaging and printing systems for printer hardware, printing supplies, and scanning devices. IPG's products consist of home and business printing, imaging and publishing devices and systems, digital imaging products, and printer supplies. ESS segment offers server and storage solutions. HPS segment provides multivendor services, such as maintenance, consulting, integration, and outsourcing. HPFS segment provides a range of value added financial life cycle management services. In addition, it offers leasing, financing, utility programs, and asset recovery services, as well as financial asset management services. Software segment provides management software solutions to manage enterprise customersÂ’ infrastructure, operations, applications, and business processes. Corporate Investments segment engages in the sale of network infrastructure products and gigabit ethernet switch products, and the licensing of HP technology to third parties. In addition, it delivers a suite of platforms, including HP Labs and business incubation projects. Hewlett-Packard markets its products and services directly and indirectly through third party retail locations. The company has strategic alliances with Lockheed Martin Corp. and SBC Communications, Inc. Hewlett-Packard was founded in 1939 by Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard and is headquartered in Palo Alto, California.
