Empresas ICA Sociedad Controladora, S.A. de C.V. (ICA) engages in the construction and related activities. The company operates in six segments: Civil Construction, Industrial Construction, CPC-Rodio, Infrastructure Operations, Real Estate and Housing, and Other Operations. Civil Construction segment focuses on infrastructure projects in Mexico, including the construction of roads, highways, transportation facilities, bridges, dams, tunnels, canals, and airports, as well as on the construction, development, and remodeling of multistoried urban buildings, including office buildings, multiple dwelling housing developments, and shopping centers. Industrial Construction segment focuses on the engineering, procurement, construction, design, and commissioning of manufacturing facilities, such as power plants, chemical plants, petrochemical plants, fertilizer plants, pharmaceutical plants, steel mills, paper mills, and automobile and cement factories. The CPC-Rodio segment engages in electrical and mechanical construction projects, as well as in industrial construction principally in Argentina. It also focuses on various forms of subsoil construction, including the construction of tunnels, underpasses, and retaining walls. Infrastructure Operations segment participates in two operating concessioned highways, the San Martin-Tlaxcala-El Molinito highway in Mexico and the Corredor Sur highway concession in Panama. It also participates in one operating concessioned tunnel, the Acapulco tunnel. In addition, this segment involves in the management and operation of water treatment plant in Ciudad Acuna; automobile parking facilities; water supply systems, waste management, and disposal services; and 13 airports through a joint venture with Vinci Airports and Aeroports de Paris. Real Estate and Housing segment engages in the housing development projects in the Mexico City. The Other Operations segment consists of Alsur. Alsur is a grain and general merchandise warehouse operator, and an auxiliary credit institution that issues certificates of deposit. ICA has operations in Mexico, Spain, the United States, and other Latin American countries. The company was founded in 1947 and is headquartered in Mexico City, Mexico.
