Iomega Corporation engages in the design and marketing of products that enable customers to protect, secure, capture, and share their digital information. The companys product portfolio includes Zip drives, compact disc - rewritable drives, digital versatile disc rewritable drives, hard disk drives (HDD), portable HDD drives, external hard drives, universal serial bus flash drives, solid state memory devices, and floppy drives, as well as various software that provides automatic backup, CD/DVD writing capability, the ability to recover and use a computer system directly from certain drives in the event of a computer system failure, and the ability to launch Active Disk applications automatically. It also offers REV drives, a removable hard disk storage system; REV-based Autoloader; Network Attached Storage servers, which provide network-connected storage targeted towards small and medium-sized businesses and enterprise workgroups; and aftermarket service plans. Iomega primarily sells its products through computer product and consumer electronic distributors, retailers, catalogs, value added resellers, original equipment manufacturers, private label customers, and on its own Web site. Iomega was incorporated in 1980 and is headquartered in San Diego, California.
