KVH Industries, Inc. engages in the design and manufacture of products that enable mobile communication, navigation, and precision pointing through the use of its proprietary mobile satellite antenna and fiber optic technologies. The companys mobile satellite communications products enable customers to receive live digital television, telephone, and Internet services in their automobiles, recreational vehicles, and marine vessels while in motion. These mobile satellite communications products are sold through an international network of independent retailers, chain stores, and distributors, as well as to manufacturers of marine vessels and recreational vehicles. The companys defense products include tactical navigation systems that provide uninterrupted navigation and pointing information in a range of military vehicles, including Humvees and light armored vehicles. KVH Industries also offers precision fiber optic gyro-based systems that help stabilize platforms, such as gun turrets and radar units, and also provide guidance for munitions. It sells its defense products directly to U.S. and allied governments and government contractors, as well as through an international network of authorized independent sales representatives. The company is headquartered in Middletown, Rhode Island.
