The Metso Minerals segment supplies rock and minerals processing and recycling systems for metals and construction materials. This segment offers equipment and solutions for crushing and screening, minerals processing, wear protection and conveying, and recycling. The Metso Automation segment designs, develops, manufactures, and maintains a range of field devices and analyzers, as well as process automation and information management applications and solutions. The Metso Ventures segment comprises various lines of operations, including Panelboard that offers production lines for the panelboard industry; Drives, which provides paper machine drives, other industrial gears, and wind turbine gears; Foundries that manufacture castings for various engineering industry needs; and Powdermet, which develops materials technology and component solutions for its customer industries. It also consists of Valmet Automotive, an independent contract manufacturer of specialty cars. The company serves pulp and paper, mining, construction, and civil engineering, as well as energy and chemical industries in the United States, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. Metso was formerly known as Valmet-Rauma Corporation and changed its name Metso Corporation in 1999. Metso is headquartered in Helsinki, Finland.
