NGAS Resources, Inc., an independent energy and natural resources company, focuses on natural gas development and production in the Appalachian Basin, primarily in eastern Kentucky. It has gold and silver properties in Unga Island, one of the Shumagin Islands on the easterly island group in the Aleutian Chain, 579 miles southwest of Anchorage, Alaska. Through its wholly owned subsidiary, Daugherty Petroleum, Inc. (DPI), and DPI's interests in sponsored drilling partnerships, the company acquires and develops natural gas interests in its core areas. DPI also constructs and maintains gas gathering systems for NGAS Resources wells; and owns and operates natural gas distribution facilities in Kentucky through its wholly owned subsidiary, Sentra Corporation. As of December 31, 2003, the companys gas gathering facilities aggregated approximately 112 miles, with connections to a total of 292 natural gas wells. It owned oil and gas rights in leases covering 36,408 gross developed acres and 120,823 gross undeveloped acres, all located onshore within the continental United States, as of the above date. The companys customers include pipelines, independent gas marketing firms, and transmission companies. It was formerly known as Daugherty Resources, Inc. and changed its name to NGAS Resources, Inc. in June 2004. The company has its principal offices in Lexington, Kentucky.
