New Jersey Resources Corporation, an energy services holding company, provides retail and wholesale energy services to customers in New Jersey. The company, through New Jersey Natural Gas, provides regulated retail natural gas service to residential and commercial customers in central and northern New Jersey and states from the Gulf Coast to New England, as well as Canada. As of December 7, 2004, it provided natural gas service to approximately 450,000 customers in central and northern New Jersey. It also participates in the off-system sales and capacity release markets. The companys subsidiary, NJR Energy Services, provides unregulated wholesale energy services, including base load natural gas, peaking, and balancing services, as well as asset management services. The companys other operations include sales, service, and installation of appliances; development of commercial real estate; and making energy-related equity investments. New Jersey Resources was formed in 1982 and is headquartered in Wall, New Jersey.
