The companys defense products comprise precision mechanical and electro-mechanical products, including ordnance products, such as training ammunition, fuzes, firing devices, and initiators for the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) and DOD prime contractors. Its absorbent products consist of private label diapers, adult incontinent products, and puppy pads. The company was founded in 1905. It was formerly known as Northwestern Steel and Iron Works and changed its name to National Presto Industries, Inc. in 1953. National Presto Industries is based in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
