Speedus Corp. serves as a holding company. It has investments in Siemens Corporate Research, Inc. to develop noninvasive, medical diagnostic support solutions that automatically analyze acoustical data from a patient to determine physiologically significant features useful in medical diagnosis. The company owns 80% of F&B Gudtfood, the creator and operator of the original Eurocentric chic and quick cafe, which is operating its first store in Manhattan. It also provides catering services for corporate and social events. Through its wholly owned subsidiaries, Broadband Patents, LLC and CellularVision Technology & Telecommunications, L.P., Speedus accumulated a portfolio of patents that allow for high-speed wireless communications. In addition, Speedus owns interest in Speedia Wireless, LLC that provides services to improve business performance by extending the reach of information and by enabling real-time transactions to occur between wireless device users and relevant business applications or Web sites. The company was formed in October 1995 as CellularVision USA, Inc. and changed its name to SPEEDUS.COM, Inc. in January 1999. Further, it changed name to Speedus Corp. in June 2002. Speedus is based in Brooklyn, New York.
