The Toronto-Dominion Bank and its subsidiaries provide personal, commercial, and wholesale banking, as well as wealth management services worldwide. The bank offers various deposit products, including checking, savings, and term investment products. Its lending services include lines of credit, loans, mortgages, and overdraft protection, as well as credit cards. The Toronto-Dominion also provides other services, such as cash management, investment, trade finance, and treasury services. In addition, the bank offers various insurance products, including home and automobile coverage, life, and health insurance, as well as credit protection coverage. It provides capital market and investment banking products and services, which include advice on corporate strategy, and mergers and acquisitions; underwriting and distributing loan, debt, and equity products; structuring risk management solutions; and executing financial transactions; as well as asset management services. Toronto-Dominion offers investment management services to pension funds, corporations, institutions, endowments, and foundations. The bank also provides telephone and Internet banking services, as well as trust, private banking, and private investment counsel services. It invests in Canadian government and government-insured securities, mortgage-backed securities, and debt securities of Canadian issuers and the U.S. and other foreign governments, as well as in other equity securities. The bank operated approximately 2,400 automated banking machines and a network of 1,000 branches in Canada, as of October 31, 2004. Toronto-Dominion was formed in 1955 and is headquartered in Toronto, Canada.
