In addition, this segment investigates and develops new natural gas transmission, natural gas storage, and liquefied natural gas regasification facilities in Canada and the U.S. TransCanada's Power segment engages in the acquisition, development, construction, ownership, operation, and management of power plants; marketing of electricity; and the provision of electricity account services to energy and industrial customers. It also holds the companys investments in other electrical power generation plants. TransCanada owns, controls, or constructs approximately 5,700 megawatts of power generation.
